NRAAO 2023 Conference

This year’s NRAAO conference was held at the Grand Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland. While the mid-May ocean water was still chilly, the education sessions, events, attendees and vendors were warm and welcoming. NHAAO attendees included Norm Bernaiche, Ellen Brideau and Megan Foster (daughter of Ellen and Rick Brideau), NHAAO President, Todd Haywood, Doug Irvine, Karen and Angelo Marino, Loren and Dan Martin and Adrienne Summers. In addition to the banquet gala, the New Hampshire crew enjoyed social events including a crab fest, a distillery tour, and the famous, three-mile-long board walk, explored by foot, bicycle and six-seater surreys.

The awards ceremonies, led by NRAAO Awards Committee Chair, Megan Foster, Principal Assessor Groton, MA, included Norm Bernaiche accepting the distinguished Richard L. Prendergast Lifetime Achievement Award. Ellen Brideau and Doug Irvine each received the Sherry Vermilya Award for outstanding service to the assessment profession for Massachusetts and New Hampshire respectively. Congratulations to Ellen, Norm and Doug, all of whom join an impressive list of past recipients.

At the banquet, life-time NRAAO members were introduced, including Karen and Angelo Marino as well as Norm Bernaiche. It was an honor to have them representing the NHAAO and NRAAO.

Looking ahead, the 2024 NRAAO Conference will be held in Atlantic City, NJ from May 19-23.
